Q&A Page

General Questions

Q: What is a mockup?
A: A mockup is a high-resolution Photoshop (.PSD) file that lets you insert your own design using a smart object layer. You drag and drop your logo, artwork, or text into the layer — and it updates instantly in the styled scene.

Q: What software do I need to edit your mockups?
A: You’ll need Photoshop or Photopea (a free browser-based alternative). If you’re not familiar with either, we also offer an Editing Service where we do it for you.

Q: Do your mockups work in Canva?
A: Canva doesn’t support smart objects, so our mockups won’t display or work as intended there. But you’ve got options:

  • Use Photoshop – Best for full control and highest quality

  • Try Photopea – A free browser-based alternative (slightly clunky, but it gets the job done)

  • Wait for our new Mockup Editor – Launching soon, it’s a drag-and-drop tool made for non-designers. No software or experience needed.

🧩 Editing + File Issues

Q: I can’t open the file. What should I do?
A: First, check that you’ve downloaded the full .ZIP file and extracted it. Then open the .PSD in either Photoshop or Photopea. If you see a blank file or an error, make sure you’re not trying to open it in Preview or another unsupported program.

Q: I don’t know how to use smart objects.
A: No problem. Smart objects are simple once you try them. We’ve created a free beginner tutorial here to walk you through it — or you can use our Editing Service and we’ll handle it for you.

Q: I tried Photopea but I’m stuck — can you help?
A: Sure! Photopea works almost identically to Photoshop. Open the file > double-click the smart object layer > paste in your design > save (File > Save/Save Smart Object) > go back to the main file and it will auto-update. If you're still unsure, our Editing Service is your best bet.

🛠️ Mockup Editor (Launching Soon)

Q: I don’t have Photoshop — should I wait for the new editor?
A: You don’t need to wait. Buy now, and when our browser-based Mockup Editor launches next month, you’ll automatically be able to edit your existing mockups online — no Photoshop required.

Q: What’s the difference between Photopea and the new Mock Exchange editor?
A: Photopea is a free Photoshop alternative with full functionality — perfect if you already understand layers. Our new editor is made just for mockups and will be more visual and beginner-friendly (think: Canva vibes, but for mockups).

💬 Editing Service

Q: What is the Editing Service?
A: We do the design insert for you. Each purchase includes one mockup edited with one of your designs — for example, placing your logo on a tote bag or flyer. You’ll receive the final high-res image, ready to post.

Q: How many edits are included?
A: One design per mockup per purchase. If you need multiple mockups or design versions, please purchase multiple Editing Services.

Q: Where do I send my design?
A: You’ll get an upload link during checkout, or you can reply to your confirmation email with your files.

📥 Downloads + File Access

Q: Where’s my file? I didn’t receive anything.
A: Check your inbox and spam folder — your download link is sent instantly after purchase. If it’s still missing, reply to your confirmation email and we’ll resend it.

Q: What’s included in each mockup download?
A: A high-resolution layered .PSD file, smart object setup, and commercial license. Files are delivered via Google Drive.

🖨️ Usage + Licensing

Q: Can I use these for my client projects?
A: Yes — your purchase includes a commercial license. You can use the final images in branding, websites, social media, and print.

Q: Can I use these for print materials?
A: Yes — all files are 300dpi and ready for print as well as digital use.

Q: Can I resell the mockups or templates?
A: No — you may not resell, redistribute, or offer the mockup files themselves in any form, even if modified.

❓Other Common Questions

Q: Can I use these on my phone?
A: Not at the moment. Photopea and Photoshop both require a desktop or laptop. Our mockup editor will support mobile and tablet editing when it launches.

Q: Do you offer refunds?
A: Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final. But if you have any issues, just reach out and we’ll do our best to help.
